About
Having 25 years of experience within the field, Dr Waters has trained in tertiary units in Ireland, Canada and the UK where she worked in Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist. In 2013, she received her doctorate from University College London which followed a Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences from University of Toronto in 2008. Having dually trained as a scientist in translational medicine, Dr Waters was awarded successive prestigious clinical scientist fellowships from the UK’s Medical Research Council to support her career dedicated to improving the future care of patients with kidney disease.
At UCC, Dr Waters remains committed to training the next generation of Paediatricians and has a strong interest in supporting UCC’s future translational medicine strategy.
