Dr Niamh Ryan graduated from University College Cork in 2015.  She has trained in General Paediatrics in multiple high acuity hospitals including Cork University Hospital, CHI Temple Street and Crumlin. 

Having had a keen interest in Paediatric Gastroenterology from an early stage she undertook her GI specific training in CHI Crumlin and CHI Tallaght.

As part of her ongoing interest in improving patient care and research she is preparing her thesis for her Medical Doctorate in Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease assessing incidence of this condition within Ireland and specifically looking at liver involvement within IBD.

Dr Ryan has completed training in performing oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGDs) in order to provide a local endoscopy service to the children of Munster for upper GI issues. She hopes to bring a high quality service closer to home through the Bon Secours, Cork for thousands of children.
