Overview

Bon Secours Health System is a significant supporter of charitable causes nationally. We invest annually, through our Community Outreach Programme, in worthwhile projects that can add value to the lives of the most vulnerable in society, and that can bring about a social good.

While our care within the Bon Secours Health System is summed up by our brand tagline ‘Advanced Medicine Exceptional Care’, our ‘care’ goes beyond the walls of our hospitals through our Community Initiative Funding. As a healthcare organisation with a Catholic ethos, the projects we support are a key way in which we translate our ethos, mission and values into action for the wider local communities that we serve.

Annually we offer support to charities and projects which benefit some of the most vulnerable groups in society e.g. homeless, disability sector etc. Our hope is that, though our Community Initiative Funding, we might act as a catalyst in tackling social issues by supporting local charities in the excellent work that they are doing in the community.

We can assist them financially or with expertise, often in collaboration and partnership with other likeminded organisations. We aim to support the most vulnerable, by supporting the excellent work being done by the charities who work with them on a daily basis.

We are proud to be able to serve a diverse and vibrant range of communities, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support meaningful change. We want to particularly acknowledge and thank the fantastic charities that we have had the privilege of partnering with over and to commend them for the amazing work that they do throughout Ireland and internationally.

Our Community Outreach program is a collaborative effort. We take this opportunity to thank all of those involved in administering the funding, especially the Heads of Mission, the Hospital Management Teams and the Health System Good Help Fund Steering Group.

As you read our outreach reports, we hope you get a sense of the impact that we seek to have through our Community Outreach Funding Programs.

Community outreach 2024

We hold our Mission and Values of high importance. The initiatives that fall under our Community Outreach Program are ways in which we extend our mission beyond the walls of our facilities, being ‘good help to those in need’ in a variety of different ways.

Our commitment to making a difference is exemplified through our many partnerships with local and national charities, as well as through our in-house initiatives. We are also endeavouring to foster a culture of Volunteerism; in many instances our amazing staff took the lead, and we look to support their fundraising efforts through match-funding.
