Other resources to expand learning opportunities for staff include manager and leadership training, skills development, coaching, mentorship, personalised development plans, and targeted events. We are proactive in checking in and assessing needs, developing offerings that allow our people to thrive.
Workday is our award-winning online HR system. It facilitates regular and engaging training, as well as focused training if desired. All staff have access to this platform.

Throughout my career at Bon Secours Tralee, I’ve experienced first-hand the hospital’s commitment to supporting staff development and career progression. From starting as a staff nurse, advancing to Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), and eventually taking on the role of Assistant Director of Nursing, I’ve consistently been encouraged and empowered to grow professionally. The hospital provides a nurturing environment that fosters leadership skills and continuous learning, I’m grateful for the opportunities and support I’ve received working in Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee.
I had the pleasure of joining the Bon Secours Hospital Dublin in 2022 and have not looked back since. The quality of patient care is exceptional and is reflective of the competent and hard-working multi-disciplinary team who always put the patient and their families first and foremost incorporating the highest standard of care. In the Bon Secours, we are one big family who work effectively together in the best interest of our patients.
So far in the graduate programme at the Bon Secours, I have felt so welcomed from the beginning from all staff members and the hospital itself is always ensuring that staff are respected in every way. I’ve had the opportunity so far to spend my time in areas that have interested me from when I was a student. I have had the chance to gain experience and broaden my knowledge in these areas. I have attended study days and webinars to correspond to these areas too. I am really enjoying the year so far and it’s such a relief to know there is help from mentors when needed as going from student to registered can be daunting at times. So far it has really given me a rounded look at what area I can peruse as my future career progresses.
I arrived in Ireland in December 2022, unsure of what to expect. Looking back, I am glad I made the move. It is reassuring to have such supportive management, and the hospital fosters an environment that allows me to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, the hospital has provided financial and academic support as I continue advancing my education, for which I am truly grateful.
I’m proud to be a part of this Bon Secours team, knowing that the work we do every day makes a difference in people’s lives. The sense of camaraderie, teamwork and support I receive from my fellow colleagues is unmatched. This culture is present throughout the hospital and staff well-being is greatly promoted. It’s a lovely place to work.
