Mr. Fintan J. Shannon FRCS(Tr&Orth), MCh, MSc(OrthEng) is a Consultant in Orthopaedics based at Bon Secours Hospital Galway. His clinical practice focuses on knee and shoulder surgery, with particular expertise in joint reconstruction and a commitment to offering both non-operative and operative treatments tailored to each patient’s needs.
Mr. Shannon holds fellowship-level qualifications in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS), complemented by a Master of Surgery (MCh) and a Master’s in Orthopaedic Engineering (MSc OrthEng). His training has equipped him with the specialised skills to address complex conditions of the knee and shoulder, from cartilage injuries and ligament reconstructions to joint replacement surgeries.
Mr. Shannon has recently contributed to an international consensus on cartilage defects and patellofemoral instability, reflecting his commitment to advancing orthopaedic knowledge and treatment standards in his subspecialty areas.
