Mr David Dalton is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in spine surgery. He graduated with Honours from the University of Galway in 2011 and completed higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. In 2014, he earned a Master of Surgery degree (MCh) and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2021 after successfully passing the Intercollegiate FRCS examination in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. Additionally, Mr Dalton holds a postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Economics and is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Mr Dalton completed two prestigious international spine surgery fellowships. The first was with the Spine Surgery Unit at Oxford University Hospitals, and the second at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, ranked as the Number 1 orthopaedic hospital in the USA. These fellowships provided him with advanced training in spine surgery, contributing to his expertise in the field.
Mr Dalton specialises in spinal surgery and is recognised for his extensive knowledge and experience in this area. He currently holds the position of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Galway University Hospital and Merlin Park University Hospital. He is also performing surgeries within the Bon Secours Health System in Galway.
Mr Dalton has a strong academic presence and regularly publishes in high-ranking orthopaedic and spine journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in spine surgery and orthopaedics.
