About 

Dr. Blathnaid Murtagh has been practising in Private Practice Cardiology at the Galway Clinic since 2009. Her areas of interest include preventative cardiology, cardiovascular disease in women, coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, atrial fibrillation, and echocardiography.

Dr. Murtagh graduated from University College Hospital Galway (UCHG) in 1997 and completed her internship in Galway, followed by a Senior House Officer role at the Mater Hospital in Dublin. She then undertook an Internal Medicine fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, before completing her Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the Houston Heart Centre.

Clinical Research

Her clinical research has focused on the physiological significance of coronary artery disease and fractional flow reserve, echocardiography findings in cardiac amyloidosis, and diastolic dysfunction in diabetes.
