Dr Benedict Glover is a Consultant Consultant E.P. Cardiologist at Bon Secours Hospital Galway. His practice focuses on cardiac electrophysiology and the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
Dr Glover graduated from Queens University, Belfast. He completed internal medicine training and gained MRCP UK. He then entered specialist training in cardiology and completed an MD in the management of atrial fibrillation.
He completed fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Toronto, Canada. He also gained a Masters in Medical Education at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA.
Dr Glover is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians UK.
Dr Glover has a special interest in the management of cardiac arrhythmias. This includes catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia SVT, and ventricular tachycardia.
He has written two internationally recognised books in this field, and they are on the reading list for trainees in the Heart Rhythm Society. He has published several hundred manuscripts on cardiac arrhythmias, including work referenced in American Heart Association Guidelines.
He takes pride in patient interactions and in explaining complex procedures in an understandable way.
Dr Glover has published two handbooks on the management of cardiac arrhythmias. He has also received extensive funding through international research grants to support advances in arrhythmia management.
He is a fellow of the major cardiac arrhythmia institutions and is considered an international expert in this field.
