About

Dr Patrick O’Boyle is an experienced Consultant Interventional Cardiologist in Dublin and is accepting new patient referrals.

He studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and St George’s Hospital, University of London, before undertaking further medical training at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He specialised in cardiology in Glasgow and completed advanced fellowship training in complex coronary intervention at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Scotland.

Dr O’Boyle provides comprehensive cardiology care, assessing and treating the full spectrum of adult heart conditions, including chest pain, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension and cardiovascular risk. His specialist expertise is in coronary artery disease, including straightforward and complex coronary stenting procedures.

Alongside his practice at Bon Secours Hospital Dublin, he also works at the Mater Hospital, where he performs complex coronary procedures and trains doctors undertaking advanced fellowship training in interventional cardiology.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. His approach is to give patients clear, practical advice and guide them through their options with care, whether that involves reassurance, lifestyle and prevention, medication, further investigation or a procedure.

Originally from Belfast, Dr O’Boyle is delighted to be home in Ireland. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his children, Star Wars and Lego, and running, having completed the Dublin Marathon in under three hours.
