Olivia graduated from the University of Dundee, Scotland in 2000 and completed her basic surgical training in Scotland before returning home to Ireland. After completing and being awarded a masters in surgery from Trinity College Dublin, she entered the Higher Specialist training programme in Trauma and Orthopaedics. She was awarded a FRCS in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery with RCSI in December 2011. Olivia then went on to complete 2 years of fellowship, one year in the Auckland Regional Hand Service and the second year in Wrightington Upper Limb in the UK. She passed the European Board of Hand Surgery Diploma examination in Paris in 2014.
In addition to her practice in the Bon Secours Hospital Dublin, Olivia also works at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital and Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.
Ms Flannery has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and has presented and lectured internationally.
