Mr Peadar Mac Suibhne

Biography

Peadar is a native Irish speaker from the Muskerry Gaeltacht region of West Cork. Having graduated from University College Cork in 2014, he undertook his internship on the south west rotation before completing his basic surgical training through the RCSI in 2017. He completed a Masters of Surgery from NUI Galway before starting his higher surgical training in Wales. In 2023 he completed his Fellowship examinations in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery and also received his Masters of Science in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the University of South Wales.

He entered onto the Specialist Register of the GMC in the UK in 2024 before embarking on his sports orthopaedic fellowships in Sydney, Australia.
He has worked in professional sports in English Premiership Rugby with Bristol Bears Men and Women, the Welsh Premiership with Aberafon Wizards and the European Ice Hockey League with Cardiff Devils. He has also worked as part of the medical team of Great Western Sydney Giants AFL and Newtown Jets Rugby League.

Peadar offers orthopaedic surgery on the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle and his practice focuses on both sports surgery and joint replacement surgery as well as fracture fixation. 

He also offers a sports medicine service for the non-operative management of joint, ligament and tendon conditions. Peadar encourages an open discussion with all sports therapy and healthcare professionals around the topic of patient management, education and optimisation of patient care and outcomes.
