Dr Fabiola Ojeda is a Consultant Rheumatologist with experience in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions.

Her areas of special interest include inflammatory arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and chronic musculoskeletal pain.

Dr Ojeda completed her specialist training in Rheumatology at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona. She has worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist since 2018.

She is actively involved in research and medical education and is committed to providing evidence based, patient centred care.

Education and Training

Dr Ojeda graduated in Medicine and completed her specialist training in Rheumatology at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, Spain, from 2014 to 2018.

She has worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist since 2018 and has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Ojeda has been actively involved in medical education and research. This includes teaching and supervising rheumatology trainees. She has also published research in peer reviewed medical journals.

Research and Contributions

Dr Ojeda is actively involved in clinical research, with a particular focus on osteoarthritis, chronic pain, central sensitisation and neuroimaging.

Her recent research has explored the prevalence and clinical impact of central sensitisation in knee osteoarthritis. She has also examined the role of sex, age and body mass index in treatment decisions for knee osteoarthritis.

Her work has included the use of functional neuroimaging to investigate brain mechanisms associated with treatment decisions in patients receiving conservative management or undergoing total knee replacement.

Dr Ojeda has presented her work at national and international rheumatology conferences, including EULAR, OARSI and the Spanish Society of Rheumatology.
