Dr Mulgrew completed his Specialist Training in Respiratory and General Medicine in 2004. Since then, he has taken part in numerous presentations , research projects and publications. He has written chapters for two books regarding the area of Sleep Apnoea and other sleep disorders. He was awarded numerous Grant and Fellowship Funding by the British Columbia Lung Association , the Canadian Institute for Health Research /Heart Stroke Foundation Canada, the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and Philips Respironics.
Dr Mulgrew’s teaching experience includes lecturing at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. This role included bedside, classroom and lecture based teaching to undergraduates, post graduates and nurses. He also scheduled and co-ordinated the clinical teaching of 3rd and Final Med RCSI students, planning their curriculum and implementing new teaching strategies. Dr Mulgrew was awarded the Best Clinical Teacher from Final Med Class 2002 at the RCSI. He was also awarded Best Clinical Teacher in the Department of Respiratory Medicine, St Vincent’s University Hospital,2004, and was nominated to the student mentoring program. Education
