Bon Secours Hospital Limerick recently hosted a GP information morning and networking event on Saturday 21st March 2026, bringing together consultants and general practitioners in the Midwest for a morning of clinical learning and professional engagement.
The in-person event provided an opportunity for GPs to connect with consultants across a wide range of specialties including Cardiology, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, Vascular, Opthalmology, Orthopaedic, Endoscopy, Breast surgery, while also learning more about our hospital and what it has to offer for private healthcare patients.
Throughout the morning, our consultants delivered presentations on a variety of clinical topics. Professor Dr Ali Aldujeli, Consultant Cardiologist, delivered an overview of evidence-based approaches to managing dyslipidaemia. Dr Jude Ryan, Consultant Geriatrician & Stroke Physician, presented a selection of geriatric case studies focusing on important aspects of patient care. The session concluded with Dr Hassan Zaid, Consultant Gastroenterologist, who discussed the diagnosis and management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD).
The event also highlighted the latest services and developments at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick, including the introduction of our Hospital Access Unit (HAU) and expansion of our services in the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab), PET-CT imaging and the Breast Care clinic. These additional services will enhance timely diagnosis and support treatment for patients across the region.
