FAQs
Excel HR signature truPulse technology delivers consistent and sustained energy with each pulse, providing efficient, effective hair removal treatments. Unlike older technologies that use low-powered energy sources or non-optimal laser wavelengths to achieve the safest, most effective results for patients of all skin types.
The Cutera Excel HR system stands out in the realm of laser hair removal, due to its gold standard dual-wave lengths 1064nm ND. YAG laser & the 755nm Alexandrite laser. This allows us to deliver safe, effective treatments across the different skin tones, an inclusivity not available in other systems.
The total number of treatments varies based on the area treated. Typically, 6-8 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended.
Laser hair removal requires multiple treatments because hair grows in different phases. It’s necessary to repeat the treatments at the intervals recommended by your practitioner to achieve the best results. Missing a treatment could mean missing the optimal stage of hair growth for removal, thereby increasing the number of sessions required.
Due to Excel HR’s superior technology and treatment safety, results are achievable on all skin types. Commonly treated areas include underarms, legs, bikini area, and men’s chest and back. Excel HR can also be used to remove hair on the face.
Most patients report that laser hair removal feels like a rubber band lightly snapping the skin. To increase patient comfort and safety, excel HR offers continuous cooling before, during and after each pulse. In comparative study, 100% of patients found the Excel HR to be more comfortable than competitors’ laser hair removal procedure. We will do everything we can to make it as comfortable as possible.
Following your Excel HR treatment, avoid heat, exercise, hot shower, baths etc. You should apply sunscreen to the treated area and refrain from excessive sun exposure. Your practitioner will discuss additional post-care instructions during your consultation.
