Mr Thavakumar Subramaniam MB (NUI), MCh, MD, FRCSI, is a Consultant Otolaryngologist and Head & Neck Cancer Surgeon. He graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway, in 2010 and completed his Higher Surgical Training (SpR) in Ireland, achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) in 2020.
Mr Subramaniam completed an advanced Fellowship in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery, Facial & Airway Reconstructive Surgery, and Robotic Cancer Surgery at McGill University Health Centre, Montreal, Canada. During this fellowship, he gained expertise in advanced cancer ablative surgery, complex reconstructive techniques, and robotic surgery for treating advanced oropharyngeal cancer.
Mr Subramaniam holds a Master’s degree in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Trinity College Dublin for his research in medical devices, neuromodulation, and tinnitus treatment. He also contributes to medical education as a clinical lecturer in Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery at both the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Trinity College Dublin.
Mr Subramaniam is currently appointed as an Otolaryngologist and Head & Neck Cancer Surgeon at University Hospital Galway. His expertise lies in the surgical treatment of head and neck cancer, complex facial and airway reconstruction, robotic cancer surgery, and the management of tinnitus.
