Areas of Expertise
Retinal Disease
Dr O'Regan's primary focus is medical retina. He diagnoses and treats conditions including macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic eye disease, retinal vein occlusions, and other disorders of the retina and macula. He performs intravitreal injections (anti-VEGF and steroid therapies) and specialist retinal laser treatments, supported by advanced retinal imaging for precise diagnosis and ongoing monitoring.
Glaucoma
Dr O'Regan provides medical glaucoma care for patients with raised eye pressure and glaucoma. He also offers Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) — an effective, minimally invasive laser treatment that lowers eye pressure and can reduce or eliminate the need for long-term eye drops.
General Ophthalmology
Dr O'Regan also sees patients with general eye conditions, including dry eye, blepharitis, watery or red eyes, and minor eyelid problems such as styes and eyelid cysts.

Originally from Limerick, Dr O'Regan studied at Trinity College Dublin before completing his medical degree at the University of Limerick Graduate Entry Medical School. He undertook six years of specialist ophthalmology training through the Irish College of Ophthalmologists National Clinical Training Programme, working at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, Mater Hospital Dublin, Galway University Hospital, Temple Street Children's Hospital, and University Hospital Limerick. He then completed a Fellowship in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Bristol Eye Hospital, one of the UK's leading centres for retinal and inflammatory eye disease, where he developed advanced skills in intravitreal injections, retinal imaging, and specialist laser treatments. Dr O'Regan is an active member of EURETINA, the Irish College of Ophthalmologists, the UK & Éire Glaucoma Society, and the European Glaucoma Society.
