Mr Richard Comer is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with extensive experience in ophthalmology. He graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG), and subsequently trained at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, UK. Mr Comer became a Fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London and was awarded an MD from Imperial College London for his research on corneal transplantation. After further specialised training in London and Vancouver, Canada, he returned to Galway to continue his practice.

Mr Comer’s specialist interests cover a broad range of ophthalmic conditions, including cataract surgery, strabismus, oculoplastics, glaucoma, medical retinal diseases, and paediatric ophthalmology.
