Dr Matt Mullins graduated with honours from Trinity College Dublin School of Medicine in 2011. He completed his internship at St James’s Hospital in Dublin in 2012.
He subsequently completed surgical training with RCSI from 2013 to 2015 and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2015.
Dr Mullins undertook a role as Intern Lecturer from 2015 to 2016 in the Dublin North East Network, located in Beaumont Hospital. Following this teaching and leadership role, he went on to take up a position as Radiology Lecturer at University of Galway from 2016 to 2017.
Dr Mullins completed Specialist Training in Radiology at University Hospital Galway from 2017 to 2021. He completed fellowship examinations in 2020 and went on to complete his first fellowship in Interventional Radiology and oncological imaging at St Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin from 2021 to 2022.
Dr Mullins completed a further Interventional Radiology fellowship at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth from 2023 to 2024. During this year, he completed the European Board of Interventional Radiology postgraduate examinations. He went on to complete an MSK fellowship in Fremantle Hospital in Perth from 2024 to 2025.
He has been working as a Consultant Diagnostic and Interventional Radiologist in Galway since 2025. He currently holds the role of Education Development Officer with the Faculty of Radiology in Ireland.
