Education and Training

Dr O'Connell graduated with honours from NUI Galway in 1997. She completed her postgraduate medical training at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin and the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, USA, from 2000 to 2001. From 2001 to 2005, she undertook specialist radiology training at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. Dr O'Connell further specialised with fellowships in breast imaging and abdominal/MRI imaging at leading institutions, including Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin, and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated with Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.
