Dr. Kate Lawlor

Biography

Dr. Kate Lawlor is a Consultant Dermatologist registered on the Dermatology Specialist Register in both Ireland and the United Kingdom.

She graduated from the Graduate Entry Medical School at the University of Limerick in 2014, before completing her internship and Basic Specialist Training in Medicine in the West of Ireland. After successfully passing her membership exams, Dr. Lawlor became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland in 2017.

While working as a Clinical Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dr. Lawlor secured a National Training Number in Dermatology in the UK. She began her specialist dermatology training in 2019, rotating through several teaching hospitals across South Wales, including the renowned Welsh Institute of Dermatology at University Hospital Wales in Cardiff. Dr. Lawlor passed the Dermatology Specialty Certificate Examination in 2021 and completed her specialist training in July 2024.

In September 2024, she was appointed as a full-time substantive Consultant Dermatologist with the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board in South Wales.

With extensive experience in both adult and paediatric dermatology, Dr. Lawlor has particular expertise in the diagnosis and management of cancerous and benign skin lesions, as well as inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. She has trained under some of the UK’s most respected dermatology consultants and now looks forward to bringing her skills and experience to patients in Kerry and the surrounding areas.
