Ms. Ann O’Connor BSc (Eng), MA, MB Bch BAO, MD, FRCSI (ORL-HNS) is a Consultant Otolaryngologist (ENT Surgeon). She graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 2006 with an honours degree and was awarded her Fellowship in Otolaryngology in 2015.
She completed her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) on ‘The Implementation of Newborn Hearing Screening Programme in Ireland’ through University College Cork in 2016.
Ann completed a prestigious Skull Base and Otology fellowship working between Guys Hospital, Kings College Hospital and the National Neurology and Neurosurgical Hospital in London, UK. She also completed a fellowship in Paediatric Airway from Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow, UK.
Ann has a strong clinical and research training in all aspects of Otology and has a number of academic awards, distinctions and peer reviewed publications.
She is a publicly appointed Consultant working in the South Infirmary Victoria Hospital and Mallow General Hospital.
Ann offers a professional service that comprehensively covers all areas of general ENT (Adult and Paediatric) with a specialist interest in Otology including Bone Conduction Hearing implants and Hearing reconstruction. She is the chair of the National ENT and Audiology Working group and a member of the Department of Health Hearing Strategy Group.
