Dr Mohamed Abdelrahim
Hair Transplant/Restoration Surgeon
MBBS, FECAMS
Dr. Mohamed obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Khartoum, Sudan, whose Faculty of Medicine traces its origins to the historic Lord Kitchener School of Medicine, established in 1924. He is a Fellow of the European College of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery and is IMC registered (Irish Medical Council).
With a dedicated interest in the surgical and regenerative management of hair loss, Dr. Mohamed pursued further specialist training in hair transplantation and regenerative hair treatments in Belgium and Italy, complemented by clinical mentoring in hair restoration. This advanced training and mentorship provided further experience in contemporary approaches to follicular unit harvesting, donor-area assessment and management, graft handling and preservation, as well as regenerative strategies used in the management of hair loss. He subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Hair Transplantation in Andorra la Vella, Andorra, further advancing his knowledge of the scientific, clinical and surgical principles of modern hair restoration.
Now practising as a Hair Restoration and Hair Transplant Surgeon in Ireland, his principal area of expertise is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), with particular attention to achieving optimal graft yield while protecting the integrity, density and long-term appearance of the donor area.
His approach to hair transplantation is founded on the principle that successful hair restoration extends beyond achieving the maximum number of grafts in a single procedure. Careful management of each patient’s finite donor supply is essential when developing a sustainable, long-term hair restoration strategy.
This is particularly important for patients who may require large numbers of follicular units, whether during a single surgical session or through multiple procedures over their lifetime. Detailed donor assessment, strategic follicular unit extraction, meticulous graft preservation and thoughtful graft distribution are therefore integral to his surgical planning.
In addition to surgical hair restoration, Dr. Mohamed has experience in Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy and regenerative approaches to hair loss. PRP may be considered for appropriately selected patients as part of an individualised treatment plan aimed at supporting hair growth and improving hair density. Where clinically appropriate, regenerative treatments may also be incorporated alongside medical or surgical hair-restoration strategies as part of a comprehensive approach to the management of hair loss.
Dr. Mohamed is committed to an individualised and evidence-informed approach to hair restoration, combining careful assessment with surgical, medical and regenerative treatment options where clinically appropriate. Each treatment plan takes into consideration the patient’s pattern and anticipated progression of hair loss, donor capacity, hair characteristics and long-term requirements, with the aim of achieving natural-looking, aesthetically refined and sustainable results.
