The new state-of-the-art facility, developed with an investment of €500,000, is designed to enhance the delivery of ophthalmic services, improve patient access, and ensure that patients receive timely care through streamlined treatment pathways.
The procedure room has been carefully constructed with patients’ comfort in mind, ensuring a relaxed clinical environment. Its establishment will also facilitate the growth of a wider range of ophthalmic services and procedures outside of the main operating theatres. By moving more procedures from the main hospital theatres, the hospital is significantly increasing its surgical capacity, allowing for an increased volume of surgeries both in ophthalmology and other specialties.
The opening of the new ophthalmology procedure room not only highlights Bon Secours Hospital Dublin's dedication to innovation and modern healthcare delivery but also strengthens its goal of providing advanced medicine and exceptional care to patients.
Ophthalmology care at Bon Secours Hospital Dublin is provided by a dedicated team of 10 ophthalmologists together with ophthalmic nurses and technicians, clinical nurse specialists in ophthalmology and skilled theatre nurses.
