The new Bon Secours Diagnostic Imaging Centre has officially opened at Bon Secours Hospital Limerick, providing patients across the Mid-West with access to advanced diagnostic imaging services, including the region's first PET-CT scanner.

Located within the new Clinical Services Hub on the Bon Secours Hospital Limerick campus, the Bon Secours Diagnostic Imaging Centre provides hospital and community patients with access to PET-CT, MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray, DEXA and Breast Imaging services. Developed in partnership with Alliance Medical, the centre represents a significant enhancement to diagnostic imaging services in the Mid-West, supporting earlier diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing patient care.

The 944 square metre facility includes nine dedicated scan rooms and is staffed by more than 60 healthcare professionals, including 13 Consultant Radiologists. Open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm, the centre has been designed to improve access to diagnostic imaging while supporting a high-quality patient experience.

The centre was officially opened by John Kiely, Manager of the Limerick Senior Hurling Team, who joined representatives from Bon Secours Health System, Alliance Medical and invited guests to celebrate this important milestone.

Speaking at the official opening, Jason Kenny, CEO, Bon Secours Hospital Limerick, said:
