Outpatient Hysteroscopy Clinic – Dublin

The outpatient Hysteroscopy Clinic at Bon Secours Hospital Dublin specialises in the evaluation and treatment of women who are experiencing the following symptoms.

  • Heavy, irregular, or prolonged periods
  • Bleeding after menopause
  • Bleeding between periods
  • Recurrent miscarriage
  • Possible polyps or fibroids seen on a scan

A hysteroscopy is a simple procedure that allows the doctor to look inside a patient’s womb (uterus) using a thin telescope called a hysteroscope using a camera, so no cuts or incisions are needed.  The procedure in performed on an outpatient basis, meaning patients go home the same day and are awake throughout the procedure.

A biopsy may be taken during the procedure. If so, our team will be in contact with the patient and their GP once results are available. A follow-up appointment will be arranged if further treatment is needed.
