Biography
Usman went to school in Newbridge College and graduated from University College Dublin with Honours in 2011. He pursued a career in Urology and completed the Higher Specialist Training in Urology under the RCSI. He was awarded intercollegiate fellowship in 2020 and completed his Masters in Surgery from the University of Edinburgh. He undertook comprehensive fellowship in Adult and Paediatrics Renal Transplantation followed by a second fellowship in Renal, Retroperitoneal and Robotic surgery at Guys and St. Thomas NHS Foundation Trust London encompassing both Great Ormond Street and Evelina Children's Hospitals. He subsequently worked as a Consultant Urologist in Guys Hospital, London, specialising in kidney and testis cancer as well as kidney transplantation. He commenced the post of Consultant Urologist and Renal Transplant Surgeon at Beaumont Hospital in February 2024. He provides specialist care in renal transplantation transplant urology at the National Kidney Transplant Centre as well as offering advanced robotic surgery for urological diseases including kidney, urothelial and testicular cancers, kidney stone treatments and upper urinary tract reconstruction. Usman also provides care in all aspects of general urology and has a particular interest in prevention of kidney stones and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTI’s).
