Dr Quin is lead clinician for the Hospital Access Unit of the Bon Secours Hospital, Limerick and has many years of Consultant-level experience in all aspects of Emergency Medicine.


Dr Quin is a medical graduate of Trinity College Dublin (1991) and undertook specialist training in Emergency Medicine in Ireland and Wales. He was appointed Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, Wales in 2000. He worked as Consultant in Emergency Medicine in University Hospital Limerick (UHL) and St John's Hospital, Limerick from 2001 to 2025. He was Clinical Director of UHL’s Medicine Directorate from 2022 to 2025. He worked in the Emergency Room of the Galway Clinic between 2005 and 2025, and was Clinical Lead between 2022 and 2025.


Dr Quin is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI), a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSEd), a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM), and was awarded a Diploma in Evidence Based Healthcare by the University of Oxford in 2002.
Dr Quin was Dean of Postgraduate Emergency Medicine Education and Training and Chair of the Irish Committee for Emergency Training at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland from 2008 to 2025. He has been a lecturer and clinical skills tutor in the University of Limerick School of Medicine and is an Examiner for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in London. He was Course Director of the Limerick Advanced Trauma Life Support course between 2004 and 2024.
