About
Dr David O'Flaherty is a Consultant in Anaesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Bon Secours Hospital Galway, the Blackrock Health Galway Clinic, and Portiuncula Hospital. Born in Galway and a graduate of the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG), Dr O'Flaherty has received extensive training in both the UK and USA. He was formerly a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Guy’s Hospital, London. Additionally, Dr O'Flaherty is an ex-international athlete and a ringside doctor for professional boxing in Ireland.

Dr O'Flaherty’s main areas of clinical interest are in the management and treatment of chronic pain, with a focus on conditions such as back pain, neck pain, sciatica, joint pain, and neuropathic pain. His experience and expertise enable him to provide comprehensive care for patients suffering from various forms of chronic pain.

Dr O'Flaherty holds several qualifications: MB (Bachelor of Medicine), Dip Pain Med (Diploma in Pain Medicine), FFARCSI (Fellowship of the Faculty of Anaesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland), FRCA (Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists), and an MD (Doctor of Medicine).
