Bon Secours Hospital Galway officially opening of third endoscopy room and expanded minor operating procedure room

Bon Secours Hospital Galway officially opened a third endoscopy room and expanded minor operating procedure room today, unveiled by Minister of State for Disability at the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Anne Rabbitte T.D.
 
Driven by a significant €1.3 million investment, the development marks a substantial advancement in endoscopic capabilities, a larger space to increase patient flow across the hospital, and a notable expansion of advanced healthcare available to patients in the region. The Mayor of Galway City and Counsellor Eddie Hoare also attended to celebrate the opening.

Bon Secours Health System Group Chief Executive Bill Maher said: "As part of our Health System's ambitious 2025 Plan and unwavering commitment to providing state-of-the-art medical services, we are proud to announce this substantial investment here in Galway. The new endoscopy room will deliver the ability to conduct an additional 4,000 scopes in 2024, significantly increasing our capacity to serve patients in the region.
 
Bon Secours Hospital Galway's new Chief Executive, Henry Burrows, said: "Today marks a groundbreaking advancement in our endoscopic and minor procedures capabilities. This milestone is backed by a considerable investment in equipment featuring state-of-the-art endoscopes, as well as enhanced diagnostic capabilities that harness AI for better patient outcomes.
