Mr. Tom Barry is a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS).He has extensive experience in the management of oral surgery, maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, head and neck oncology, and facial aesthetics. He is enrolled on the Specialist Register in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery with the Irish Medical Council, Irish Dental Council, General Medical Council (GMC), and General Dental Council (GDC) in the UK.
Mr. Barry graduated from University College Dublin Medical School in 1997 before completing his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI). He undertook a Research Fellowship at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, where he presented internationally and was awarded the Gold Medal at the Freyer Scientific Meeting and Surgical Symposium in 2002.
In 2007, he graduated from Dental School at University College Cork and subsequently commenced Oral and Maxillofacial training in the UK, within the East Midlands and Northern Ireland Medical Deaneries. His training included clinical exposure at leading institutions such as University College London Hospital and The Eastman Dental Institute.
Mr. Barry specialises in the management of a wide range of conditions, including dentoalveolar trauma, maxillofacial trauma, facial deformity, skin cancer, and oral medicine. His expertise includes facial reanimation, facial aesthetics, and the successful use of botulinum toxin for facial pain.
Mr. Barry has presented at numerous local, national, and international meetings on topics including head and neck oncology, orthognathic surgery, and aesthetic surgery. He is an honorary member of the Irish Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ISOMS) and serves as the Irish representative of the European Union of Medical Specialists in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (UEMS OMFS).
