Dr Michael O’Mahony is a Consultant Respiratory Physician currently working at the Department of Medicine at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway). He qualified in Medicine from University College Cork in 1996 and completed his specialist training in Respiratory Medicine in both Ireland and the US. Dr O'Mahony trained at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he held Faculty positions at Weill Cornell Medical College and Rockefeller University.
Dr O’Mahony specialises in Respiratory Medicine and Sleep Medicine, offering comprehensive care for patients with respiratory conditions and sleep disorders. He is actively involved in both clinical practice and research, addressing a wide range of respiratory issues.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr O'Mahony is engaged in research in the fields of Internal Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, and Pulmonology. His most recent publication, titled "Longitudinal Trends in Real-World Outcomes Following Initiation of Ivacaftor: A Cohort Study from the Cystic Fibrosis Registry of Ireland," highlights his ongoing contribution to respiratory research.
