Dr Chuhadry Khuram Shahzad

Dr Chuhadry Khuram Shahzad is a Consultant Gastroenterologist on the Specialist Register in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine, with a dedicated subspecialty focus in Hepatology and the management of complex liver disease. 

He has trained and practised in leading Irish tertiary centres and has extensive experience in the assessment and management of chronic liver disease, including viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis and its complications, portal hypertension, ascites, and alcohol-related liver disease. His Hepatology practice includes FibroScan assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic ascitic procedures, and management of patients with advanced liver disease in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dr Shahzad completed dedicated Hepatology training at National Liver Transplant Unit St Vincent’s University Hospital, and he is fully endoscopy certified.  He performs a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including advanced polypectomy, EMR, PEG insertion, and endoscopic management of gastrointestinal bleeding, including haemostasis and variceal therapy.
