Biography
Dr. Traynor is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in coronary artery intervention (stent placement) and structural heart intervention (keyhole valve repair, valve replacement and septal defect closure). He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 2015. He completed his General Internal Medicine (MRCPI) and Cardiology specialist training (CSCST) through the RCPI in Ireland.
Following his specialist training he undertook a 1-year sub-specialty fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin. He then travelled to Canada to complete a further 2-year fellowship in complex coronary and structural heart disease intervention at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, one of the top ranked medical schools globally.
Dr. Traynor has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers in top tier cardiology medical journals including Circulation, JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions, OpenHeart and CRM. His research culminated in being awarded the Annual Brian Maurer Young Investigator Award 2025 by the Irish Cardiac Society.
