Bon Secours Hospital Cork was honoured to welcome over 300 General Practitioners (GPs) to its annual GP Study Morning, held at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, 24th January.

The in-person event brought together GPs from across the region for a morning of high-quality education, delivering practical and cutting-edge clinical insights relevant to everyday primary care. The programme reflected the diverse and complex presentations encountered in general practice, with sessions covering men’s and women’s health, cardiology, ENT, orthopaedics, neurology, paediatrics, geriatrics and emergency medicine.

Each session was chaired by a GP colleague and featured expert consultants sharing the latest advancements and case-based insights. The interactive format provided valuable opportunities for discussion, engagement with specialists, reinforcing collaboration between primary care and Bon Secours Hospital Cork.

The highlight of the morning was the keynote address from Mr Ray Goggins - former Irish Special Forces Operator, bestselling author and chief instructor on RTÉ’s Ultimate Hell Week. His session, “Being Effective,” was chaired by Dr Billy Stack, Consultant Gastroenterologist, and provided an engaging and thought-provoking conclusion to the clinical programme.
