Bon Secours Cork Cancer Centre provides a range of breast care services for both benign breast conditions and malignant disease. There is an experienced multidisciplinary team comprising surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, breast care nurses, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and a wide range of allied practitioners in physiotherapy, lymphoedema care and onco-psychological support.
The service is both consultant-led and delivered. Appropriate patients have triple assessment (examination, imaging with mammography or ultrasound and a biopsy) delivered by a dedicated team of breast cancer consultants at daily clinics. In this way, early breast cancer can be detected and a personalised plan for treatment devised. Patients can usually be seen within three days of referral from their GP.
To access the services in our Breast Care Centre, you will need a letter of referral from your GP.
