Halloween at the Care Village

Halloween was thoroughly enjoyed by all Residents and Staff in Mount Desert on Tuesday 31st October 2017. Mass was followed by the Head Chef giving a demonstration of Halloween themed Fairy Cakes. He got lots of tips from the Residents.

The afternoon was spent playing games, guess the number of sweets in the jar, pass the parcel and can can. The Residents also enjoyed a Reminiscences Hour and Ghost Stories. The evening was spent singing songs around the fire.

The dress on the witch was made for one of our Residents, who is now 95, in the 1970's, when she was Federation President of the Soroptimist Society. The dress was given to the Activities/Rehabilitation Co-Ordinator for the Fashion Show and it would not look out of place at any event today. She was delighted that it was worn by the witch.
