Blessing of the Cardiology Suite
A heart at peace gives life to the body, for it is a wellspring of life. (Proverbs 14:23)
Canon Michael McLoughlin, Administrator of the Diocese of Galway, blessed the new Cardiology Suite at the Bon Secours Health System, Galway on the 16th of August.
The service of readings, reflection and music was attended by various members of our Bon Secours Galway family; our neighbours in Renmore parish, local clergy and religious, Sisters of Bon Secours, members of the Board and Executive, our CEO, Bill Maher, Cardiac Services Manager Bríd Broderick, and the staff of the Cardiology Suite and Hospital staff.
Our CEO, Gerry Burke, welcomed everyone and thanked all who had in any way contributed to the building of this new and exciting facility, which continues the modern development of our hospital. It is designed with the experience of the patient in mind, with an array of images from nature and natural light, and we are very blessed to have this space and to have our vibrant professional staff to care for our patients.
A word of thanks to all who took part in our liturgy of blessing, those who formed our choir, played music, read readings and prayers and all enhanced the occasion by their presence. It was fitting to see and meet Sisters of the Bon Secours who have worked over the years in our hospital, Sr Margaret Mary and Michelle, who joined us for the celebration. Thanks also to our catering department for the wonderful reception afterwards in our dining room.

We give thanks Lord for the gifts of all who work in the healing mission of God. May the Lord shower down blessings and bring healing of body and soul to all of us, giving us courage when afraid, healing when ill, patience when dejected, so that we may always know the deep love of your holy people.
