Ms Siah has over 20 publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and has presented her work at national and international ophthalmology conferences. She has been awarded with research grants and was involved in clinical trials in the past.

She is a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society (BOPSS), the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and the Irish College of Ophthalmologists.

Education

Ms Siah graduated from Trinity College Dublin with honours medical degree in 2005. Prior to commencing her ophthalmic training, she obtained experience in medical specialties that were relevant to Ophthalmology such as Rheumatology, Neurology and Endocrinology/Diabetes. She was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) in 2007. She commenced her Ophthalmic surgical training in Ireland in 2007 and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (MRCOphth) in 2008. She was the Lecturer in Ophthalmology for University College Dublin (2009-2010) and was accepted into the Ophthalmic Higher Surgical Training in Ireland in 2010. She has worked in Eye Departments at teaching hospitals in Dublin, Galway and Waterford. She completed her Ophthalmic Higher Surgical Training in Ireland in 2014 and was awarded Fellowship in Ophthalmology by the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, FRCSI(Ophth), the same year. In 2015, she was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth).

Ms Siah underwent a 6-month fellowship training in Cornea and External Eye Disease at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2014. She later underwent a 1-year fellowship training in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital surgery at the prestigious Corneo-plastic Unit at Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Grinstead. She obtained further experience in Oculofacial Aesthetics and Ophthalmic Plastic Reconstructive surgery as a visiting Fellow at the Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City.

Ms Siah was the first Consultant Orbital surgeon to be appointed at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. During her time at the Trust, she set up and developed the Orbital service. With the collaboration of a Consultant Endocrinologist, she established the Joint Thyroid Eye Clinic. She has worked in multi-disciplinary teams where the management of complex disorders require expertise from Orbital, Skull Base, Maxillofacial and/or ENT surgeons. At the University Hospital Southampton, Ms Siah also developed the Lacrimal service and introduced comprehensive treatments such as endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy (endoDCR) and conjunctivodacryocystorhinostomy with glass tube insertion for the management of watery eyes due to blocked tear ducts.

Whilst in the UK, Ms Siah provided a fellowship training programme in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital surgery. She has trained 2 international Fellows and they are now practising Consultant Ophthalmologists specialising in eyelid surgery.
