Launch of Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic and Medical Assessment Unit in Bon Secours Tralee

Bon Secours Health System Tralee is delighted to announce the opening of their new Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic (RACPC) and Medical Assessment Unit (MAU).

Both Units offer a consultant-led service with immediate assessment, access to diagnostics, diagnosis and treatment. Patients are referred to the MAU & RACPC by their GP and will generally be offered an appointment on the same day, or the next day at the latest. The opening hours are currently Monday through Thursday from 9am to 5pm. Dr Kamal Abdulla, Consultant Physician & Cardiologist is the Clinical Lead for both units and is supported by an enthusiastic and compassionate team.

“The clinic is the first of its kind in Kerry and officially opened on the 16th of January 2017. It has already been hugely successful in providing co-ordinated, evidence-based care in a supportive environment” - Dr Kamal Abdulla.

“This is a really positive new development for the Bon Secours Tralee and the community that we serve. The units will give our GP’s rapid access to consultant delivered care for patients who are medically unwell or have chest pain. I am particularly pleased that the costs or potential costs are known to the patient and GP upfront and that the initial consultation fee is only €70.00. I hope that our public avail of the service and that the units will support our community for years to come” - Dr. Helena Moore, Clinic Director.
