The Bon Secours Hospital Cork would like to advise that the hospital is no longer accepting visitors. This measure has been adopted by the hospital to safeguard patients and staff and to comply with public health advice as recommended by the Government of Ireland
The Bon Secours Hospital Cork would like to reassure members of the public that the hospital will do everything it can to facilitate communication between patients and their loved ones while they are under our care. We will endeavour to achieve this by utilising the best available technologies such as phones, iPads etc. to support ongoing communication. The hospital appreciates the disruptive effect caused by the temporary no visitors policy and we would appreciate your support during the forthcoming challenging period. Should you require any assistance in arranging for communication with your relative, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our ward staff or our pastoral care team who can be contacted on 086 0436370.
Exceptions to the no visitor’s policy will be granted in circumstances
In these specific circumstances a compassionate and practical approach will be adopted by the hospital by facilitating visits by one designated person. We understand that this is a difficult decision for families to make and the hospital offers its strongest possible commitment to ensure that communication for other family members is maintained as best possible. The hospital will support such visits by ensuring that appropriate information is provided to this person and Personal Protective Equipment is provided to minimise the risk of infection transmission. For the protection of staff a phone assessment with the designated person will be done before the visit.
We appreciate this is a uniquely challenging time for patients, their families and the staff involved in their care. However, despite the difficulties posed by COVID-19 Pandemic, the hospital reaffirms its commitment to provide care in accordance with the mission and values of Bon Secours.
