Dr Ioana Maris has recently been appointed Consultant Paediatrician to the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork.
Ioana Maris graduated from University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Victor Babes" Timisoara, Romania in 1995. She completed a PhD in Paediatric Nephrology in 2009, focused on the edidemiology of renal disease in children, while working as a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist in a Tertiary University Hospital.
Ioana moved to Ireland in 2011. In 2013, she was the receipient of a Fellowship Award from the National Children's Research Centre, Dublin, for the project "A Prospective Study of the Incidence of Anaphylaxis in Irish Children" and she completed her Medical Doctorate in UCC in 2017.
Ioana worked as a Consultant Paediatrician/Senior Lecturer in Cork University Hospital/CC. She is an investigator in several Clinical Trials on Peanut Immunotherapy, and continues her academic association as a Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, UCC.
