Keeping Contact with Patients in Bon Secours Hospital Tralee During The COVID-19 Outbreak

Founded by the Sisters of Bon Secours, our hospital has as its mission care for the sick, the dying and their families within a Catholic ethos. Despite the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, our hospital reaffirms its commitment to provide care in accordance with this mission and our values.  

The holistic care we offer is not limited to the treatment of a disease or bodily ailment, but embraces the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of the human person.  To this end we have established a new service where loved ones can send messages directly to patients while they are under our care.  

This service, which runs from Monday to Friday, is primarily in response to the current visiting restrictions, which are essential in the interests of public health and the containment of the transmission of COVID-19. We appreciate the disruptive effect caused by these temporary visiting restrictions not just for our patients, but also for their loved ones. We appreciate the sacrifices loved ones are making during this uniquely challenging time. While our dedicated staffs continues to provide high-quality holistic care, characterised by compassion, respect, justice and hope to those under our care, patients can now receive messages from loved ones who are thinking of them.  These messages can provide great comfort to patients in their illness, not least during these exceptional times. 

If you would like to send a message directly to your loved one in our hospital, then please send it by email to treception@bonsecours.ie. Be sure to include the following on the subject line of the email:
•    Patient’s Full Name, 
•    Ward Name (if known) and 
•    First Line of the Patient’s Home Address
(in case we have two patients with the same name).  
Emails will be printed, enveloped and delivered to patients within a 24-hour timeframe. Messages received over the weekend, or on public holidays, will be delivered the next working day.
