------COVID-19 – Advice for MS patients -----

Many of our MS patients are worried about their illness in the context of COVID-19. At present the guidelines are to stay on your medication. The risk of stopping medication will result in the deterioration of your MS so the balance of risk is that you should continue your treatment.

We are advised that we shouldn’t commence any new medication such as Ocrelizumab, Mavenclad or Lemtrada and it is has also been advised that a second dose of Mavenclad should not be given for now.

The advice for everyone from the HSE at this time is for stringent hand washing and social distancing.
If you had a cough, shortness of breath and fever, you should contact your GP and follow their protocols.
