On Tuesday 13th June 2017 62 GP's from Galway, Mayo and Roscommon attended the launch of the New Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and Rapid Access Chest Pain in Bon Secours Health System Galway. On arrival the GP's enjoyed a buffet in the Restaurant followed by the educational event which took place in the day lounge of the hospital. Prof. John McCabe, Medical Director welcomed the GP's to the event and then Consultant Cardiologists: Dr. Jim Crowley, Dr. Brian Hynes, Dr. Briain MacNeil, Dr. Darren Mylotte, Dr. Pat Nash, Dr. Faisal Sharif, and Dr. Yvonne Smyth presented A Cardiology update - " What the GP needs to know". Ms. Nicola Fahy, Cardiology Clinical Nurse Specialist presented on the New Interventional Cardiology Service and Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic. This was followed by a tour of the New Cath Lab and Cardiology Suite led by Ms. Brid Broderick, Cardiology Service Manager. All GP's who attended the meeting were entered into a draw to win A brand new Philips FXR Defibrillator and Dr. Michael Regan from Cong, Co Mayo was the lucky winner"!
