IT Tralee announces €400,000 Research Programme Aimed At Optimising Patient Care At Bon Secours Hospital Tralee!

Since becoming a member of Lero-the Irish Software Research Centre, the Institute of Technology Tralee has announced a new €400,000 research programme, aiming to apply technology to a Healthcare setting.  The research programme focuses on optimising patient care at Bon Secours Hospital Tralee by ensuring the effecient use of resources. The three year programme will analyse current procedures for bed management and  theatre scheduling and pilot the application of intelligent systems to improve patient pathways. This research is supported by Science Foundation Ireland. This research programme is one of a number of initiatives marking a collaboration between IT Tralee and Bon Secours Hospital Tralee. The formal signing of this enhanced partnership agreement took place on the 19th October 2017.
