The Bon Secours Hospital, Cork are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Deirdre O'Brien, Consultant Microbiologist.
Dr Deirdre O’Brien graduated with honours from UCC in 2000. She worked as a consultant at the Royal Aberdeen Infirmary, NHS Grampian prior to taking up the post of
consultant microbiologist for the Mercy University Hospital and South infirmary Victoria University Hospitals in 2014. She has extensive experience in all aspects of clinical
microbiology including antimicrobial stewardship, infection prevention and control and sepsis. She is actively involved in research and teaching and is a Clinical Senior Lecturer,
School of Medicine UCC.
