Biography
Dr. Brian Egan is a graduate of NUI Galway (2001). He is on the Specialist Register of the Irish Medical Council and is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Consultant Gastroenterologist at Mayo General Hospital and Galway Univeristy Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at University Hosptial, Galway. He completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine on the Irish Higher Medical Training Programme.
Dr. Egan has a subspeciality interest in inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer screening, complex polypectomy, hepatology, malabsorption, and coeliac disease. He has completed Fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology in St. Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He has published peer reviewed papers in International Journals on Inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopy, helicobacter pylori and confocal laser endomicroscopy.
