The Occupational Therapy service at Bon Secours Hospital Galway aims to assess and treat individuals with physical and /or psychosocial difficulties which inhibits their independence with everyday activities.

The focus of the service is to assess the day to day functional ability of patients and plan their discharge as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Services Offered:

  • Assessment of ADL’s
  • Assessment of need with regard to aids and home adaptations
  • Cognitive Assessments
  • Discharge Planning with MDT
  • Falls Prevention
  • Liaison with Community Services
  • Splinting Service

Out patient appointments for splinting are made in advance by the consultant secretary.

In patient referrals are requested by completing a green occupational therapy referral card which are located on each ward.

Opening Hours:

9:00am to 5.00pm Monday - Thursday

9.00am to 4.30pm Friday

The Occupational Therapy Department is located on the ground floor corridor leading to the dining room.

Arranging Appointments:

A referral can be made by GP/Consultant.

Self referral also accepted.
