Over 70 General Practitioners attended the recent Sports Injury Masterclass which took place in the Bon Secours Hospital Galway on Wednesday, 13th February 2019.
Prior to the clinical event, a buffet was enjoyed by all in The Restaurant.
Prof Kieran Daly, Clinical Director & Consultant Cardiologist welcomed all to the Bon Secours Hospital and introduced the speakers for the evening.
Ms. Emilie McGrath, Physiotherapy Manager presented on the “New Rapid Access Sports Injury Clinic - How & Who to Refer “
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, Mr. William Curtin and Mr. Ken Kaar gave presentations on the management of common hand, hip, knee and shoulder sports injuries.
Dr Enda Devitt, G.P., Whitehall Medical & Connacht Rugby Medical Officer talked about “Concussion: Management & Referral Pathways”.
Following on from the great success of this event, a second Sports Injury Masterclass is being planned, date to be announced.
